Woman jailed after dropping gun in public leads to drug charges
Employees from a local restaurant called in a complaint of two intoxicated customers and stated that they had seen a gun fall from the backpack of one of them before the customer quickly picked it up. Upon making contact with the suspects, 26-year old Courtney Pack of Pikeville allegedly stated she had a gun and was found not to have a permit to carry the firearm. Once under arrest Pack gave the officer a false name and address and later said she didn’t want to go to jail because she was wanted for drug court violations. Pack was also found to have in her possession pills, a syringe and spoon. She was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, identity theft, illegal possession of a legend drug and possession of a controlled substance.
Pack’s bench warrant states that her drug court violation stemmed from charges she received on January 21st of driving under the influence and 2-counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
