PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- EKB News has received a communication from a person claiming to be fugitive former disability attorney Eric C. Conn. 

Below is the full, unedited press conference, in which FBI Special Agent in Charge Amy Hess discusses embattled former disability attorney Eric C. Conn's disappearance.

 It happened this afternoon when an autistic child climbed out a window of his grandmothers house and was walking on KY 302/ Water Gap Road when a coal truck driver saw the child and stated she had to swerve to miss hitting him. 

In a region prone to flooding the imminent threat of severe weather gets emergency officials preparing for the worst. With rain expected to reach our area from the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy, officials in Pike County also say it should have residents preparing as well. 

 

Three people have been injured in two separate vehicle vs. pedestrian collisions in Pike County.

Fish and Wildlife officers in Magoffin County have taken a significant step forward in the fight against poaching.  And, it came by way of a video posted on social media.  EKB News reporter Shannon Deskins has the details.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- A follow-up to a report we first brought you last night. Two people were arrested after a body was found in a shallow grave in the Turkey Creek area of Pike County. Today, they both appear in court, and now, one of those people is charged with murder.

 19-year old Kevin Gayheart of Wayland has been charged with 2-counts of 1st degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under after the children told their mother Gayheart had abused them. Gayheart admitted to officers he had picked up one of the children and had shaken him two months ago.

We are following breaking news out of Pike County where a body was discovered in a shallow grave near a residence on Turkey Creek Road in the Belfry community.

 A tip led to the discovery of the body this evening.

UPDATE: Jennifer Blankenship and Okey Hinkle were arrested for active bench warrants and police tell EKB News that they plan to charge them in this case soon. They have not yet been charged in connection with the discovery of the body.
